WordPress Site Design & Conversion
Blog is Not a Four-Letter Word
Okay, technically it IS a four-letter word — but my point is to dispel any myths or misconceptions that you may have about making the transition to WordPress.
You see, not all that long ago, I felt the same way that you do.
When I first became interested in creating web pages, FrontPage was the first software that I worked on. For beginners, FrontPage offered a simple, yet functional method in which you could design pages easily.
Then, in September 2006 came the news that Microsoft FrontPage 2003 would be the last version that would be released. Since that time, a growing number of website owners using FrontPage are noticing that the code is deprecated, resulting in errors and loss of functionality of their site.
Despite the fact that I had both Adobe GoLive and Dreamweaver in my creative arsenal, I had continued to hold onto FrontPage like a security blanket. To say that I was reluctant would be an understatement.
After taking WordPress for a spin, I quickly ditched FrontPage, and never looked back. I soon discovered that WordPress far exceeded my expectations, and made site design and maintenance much more efficient. After transitioning my own sites over to WordPress, I recommended that all of our clients do the same.
Some folks were a bit reluctant at first. Still others were pleased to finally be able to “take the reins” with their own sites — allowing them full control to make changes whenever they desired. In addition, these clients were able to eliminate the costs associated with maintaining their websites. Considering the current economic climate, even a small savings can dramatically impact your bottom line.
Why Consider a WordPress Site?
- Ease of use – if you can use a word processing program, you can use WordPress.
- Continually updated – WordPress is always being updated and improved to make it more efficient for its users.
- Ability to automate tasks – drip-feed posts, integrate feeds, synch with social media accounts, etc.
- Associated tools – plugins add a myriad of additional features to your blog, and save you time and effort
- Easy design changes – updating and making changes to your theme, as well as your content can be made quickly and easily.
What Types of Packages Do You Offer?
I have created several packages based upon the most popular requests I receive; however, I am happy to design a package to meet your needs. Just visit the Contact page and give me the specifics.
All of my packages include helpful tips and resources to help you get up to speed on maintaining your new blog. Of course, if you’d like for me to handle the heavy lifting for you, I offer competitive packages for monthly site maintenance on a contract basis.
“Traci has been our Internet salvation! Being a small, family owned business our website was a ‘cut & paste’ version of something to simply be on the web. It had not been updated for years and we had no one within the company with the knowledge or ability regarding web design. Her expertise and professionalism has allowed us to offer a site both interesting and useful to existing and potential clients. We are now proud of our website and have something that would rival any Fortune 500 company.” – Darrell Barber, RiverCitiesCourier.com
“Traci: Thank you very much for the website design and content. You went above and beyond all expectations, especially for that price. It has been a pleasure working with you. You are now on my speed dial so we will be working together again real soon. Thanks again.” – Garrett McCabe – Brainunleashed.com
“If you happen to be a person who is long on imagination and very short on technical smarts like me, you need Traci. Yes, she works happily with highly skilled businesspeople (since she is one herself), but she also has the ability to install, fix, design and most important EXPLAIN mysterious computer things to The Bewildered. She can take you where you are, and figure out where you should be, and do it all with a kind of ease that restores your faith in techies.
I have learned tons from Traci, and she is so basically kind and decent that she even made it fun (well, most of it). I wish I had met her a long time ago.” – Joan Wester Anderson, Author of the New York Times bestseller, WHERE ANGELS WALK – www.joanwanderson.com
